I have finally completed 52 weeks of NPTEL courses in the Computer Science and Engineering (CS) discipline and got NPTEL DISCIPLINE STAR. Here is my NPTEL journey.

NPTEL Stars
Every semester (January/February – March/April; July – September/October), NPTEL will issue NPTEL STARS. There are different categories in NPTEL STARS – NPTEL Discipline Star is one among them. NPTEL DISCIPLINE STAR is for candidates who completed courses totaling 50 weeks or more in the same discipline. The final score in every course is greater than or equal to 55.
My NPTEL Journey
The NPTEL journey started in 2017 when I and my colleague Vikas and started taking NPTEL courses. From July – September/October 2017, we did two courses – “Introduction to Internet of Things” and “Design for Internet of Things.” These two courses have increased my interest in the Internet of Things (IoT) domain, and I started working on IoT projects. Later, I also encouraged students in mini-projects and major projects in the IoT domain. Among these two courses, “Introduction to Internet of Things” is a 12-week course in the CS discipline.
In 2018, from January/February – March/April, I completed two more NPTEL courses. One is “Wireless Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks” – an 8-week course in CS discipline. In the same year, from July – October, I completed another NPTEL course, “Embedded Systems-Design Verification and Test” – a 12-week course in the CS discipline. This course is also interesting and gives a complete picture of Embedded Systems. Later I also taught Embedded System Design course. Currently Embedded System Design course is available in Courses section.
In 2019, from February – April, I completed “Machine Learning, ML” – an 8-week course in CS discipline. Later due to the situation of Covid, I did not write the NPTEL exams.
NPTEL Discipline Star
I started writing again NPTEL exams in this year. I completed the last course, “Introduction to Industry 4.0 & Industrial Internet of Things” – a 12-week course in CS discipline to cross 50 weeks to achieve the NPTEL DISCIPLINE STAR. I also took other courses in NPTEL from EC and EE discipline. All the NPTEL courses I studied have great value in them and helped me a lot in improving my skills for advancing my career.
NPTEL Star T-Shirt
NPTEL offers a free NPTEL Star T-Shirt to NPTEL Stars (Discipline Stars, Super Stars, Domain Scholars, Evangelists, Motivated Learners, Enthusiasts, Believers). Last week I received my NPTEL Star T-Shirt. Here is my NPTEL Star Pic.
